View from Pikes Peak

The views from Pikes Peak are just beyond amazing. For hundered of miles one will see nothing but the Rocky Mountains...snow toped in the distance. Yet if one turns east, for miles there are only lakes, forests and green meadows. It's stunning!

Welcome to the DP family. It is good to have someone besides my brother (www.parkerdailyphoto.com) and I representing the state! I lived in the Springs & up/down Ute Pass from 85-92, and use to be on the El Paso County Search & Rescue team. One of my most vivid memories is driving to the top in February to do some training. Blasting through snow drifts on the West face 1/2 mile or so below the summit will get the blood pumping!

Some ideas for posts: Baseball Diamond out East, any number of places up on the Rampart (lots of good rock fields), Gold Camp Road tunnels, freeway retaining walls, firefighters memorial, veladome, NORAD entrance, city lights at night, the Crags on the back side of PP, The north pole, entrance to PP HWY, Cog Rail, Peterson field, tank tracks at Ft. Carson, the Insect Museum out 115, Focus on the Family Campus, AFA Football field, AFA chapel, Cave of the Winds, ah the memories!

I look forward to watching your blog!

Bill,

thanks for all the great tips!!! As a matter of fact, I just went to the chapel yesterday and will post about it today. COS is such a great place, I doubt I will ever have trouble finding a great thing to take pictures of, right? :o)
Love it here!

I was just looking at Around the World's support blog, and clicked on Colorado Springs. Nice. I'll be coming back. Mind if I link you to my blog? I just recently started one.
